Club Notes
October 30, 2018
Recent and Upcoming Games – Congratulations to our senior camogie players who defeated St. Vincent’s in the Senior Camogie Shield Final replay. This is an exceptionally young squad and great credit is due to them and their mentor Greg Skelton.
Well done also to our Under 13A camogie girls who defeated Naomh Olaf by 1 point in the Shield final. Our Under 13B and Under 15 girls were also in action with both sides suffering narrow losses after great performances. Our Under 21 hurlers received a walkover from Erin’s Isle and progress to the next round.
Our Under 21 footballers start their championship campaign with a very difficult away game to Round Towers Lusk next Saturday at 2-30. The Under 16 hurlers play their shield final next Saturday away to Commercials. We need support.
Congratulations to the Ballyboden senior hurlers and their manager Joe Fortune on regaining the county title. Joe is a former member and player with our club.
All Weather Schedule – Work has commenced on the preparation of the 2019 All Weather schedule. The 2018 schedule remains in place until the end of the season. At the moment priority will be given to teams currently involved in competitive action.
Best Wishes – We wish a speedy recovery to club player Dylan Kennedy who suffered a serious leg injury while playing hurling for his school recently.
Monday Night is Trad Night in the Club Bar – Every Monday night there is a Traditional Irish Music Session in the Club Bar from around 9:30 or so. The music is excellent and a wide spread of musical instruments are played by the 15 to 20 musicians that take part in the Session. All musicians and non-musicians are welcome and admission is free!
Club Lotto – The numbers drawn in this week’s Club Lotto were 6, 10, 18 and 26. There was no winner. The Jackpot is now €5,500. Play online athttps://www.locallotto.ie/play_newa.asp?ll_id=518&PC=0&RP=#Anchor or in the Club Bar.
Naomh Mearnóg Nursery – The registration fees for the 2018/19 Nursery are now due. The cost of the Nursery membership is only €70 for one child and €80 for 2 or more children from the same family. As we are aligning the Nursery membership with our other membership the Nursery membership for 2018/19 covers the period from 1 September 2018 to 31 December 2019 (rather than to 30 June 2019 as has been the case up now).
