Club Notes

October 19, 2015

Congratulations to our Junior camogie team who have reached the championship semi final after an impressive victory over Na Fianna. Details of this fixture will be circulated when available. Well done to the senior team also who ensured their senior championship status for next year with a hard earned victory over Oliver Plunketts. This finishes the year for the seniors and we thank all the players and their mentors for all their hard work.

Thank you to all who helped run the Gaelic4Mothers Tournament at the weekend. With almost 2,000 players involved, this was a massive undertaking. Thank you to Andrew Corry of Corry Estates who sponsored a set of jerseys for our team and also to Pat O’Farrell who sponsored training equipment. As usual, everything ran smoothly.

Our senior hurlers are back in action next weekend with a vital league game at home against Whitehall on Saturday evening. We need the support of all members for this game. So please come along.

The club has entered teams in the forthcoming under 21 football and hurling championships. The under 21 competitions are important events and the club has competed well in them over the years.  All interested players are asked to make contact with their managers.

The proposed new All Weather schedule has already been circulated to the juvenile sections. It will also be displayed at the club. Comments are welcome.

The club is hosting a Fancy Dress Halloween party on the 31st of October at 8pm. There will be a DJ and prizes for the best costume. All are welcome, so please come along.

Our AGM is scheduled for the 4th of December. Motions or Nominations must be submitted to Club Secretary Tim Maher in writing.

Our annual Mass will take place on the 5th.

We extend our sympathy to the McCarville family on the death of Paul’s wife Fidelma. Paul played for the club in earlier years. May Fidelma’s Soul Rest in Peace
