Club Notes

October 13, 2014

Well done to our senior hurlers who secured their senior league status with a well deserved victory away to Erin’s Isle on Saturday evening. This has been a difficult year for the squad due to injury and players travelling abroad. Nevertheless, the lads stuck to their task throughout the campaign and deserve their success. Thank you also to their management team of Cliodhna, Paddy, Damien, Tiernan and Brian. We send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Ciaran Waters who suffered a bad shoulder injury during the game.

Congratulations to our under 14 camogie girls who have reached the championship final after defeating Naomh Bríd. This is a highly talented group who are also doing very well in the under 14 ladies football championship.

On Saturday, we host the annual Gaelic 4 Mothers tournament. Admission is free and all are welcome. All pitches at the clubhouse will be in use all day. The usual helpers will be required for car parking duties. Please contact Frank Lynch

The Winter schedule for the All Weather pitch will be sorted out this week. At the moment, priority will be given to teams still involved in serious competitive activity.

We wish to remind all mentors and players to turn off lights and lock all dressing rooms at all times. Also, please ensure that your cars are locked  and that no property is visible. Some “undesirables” have been seen around the place.

Congratulations to Ciaran Reale and Tina Keane who got married at the weekend. We wish them a long and happy life together.

We extend our sympathy to the Murphy family on the death of Irene’s brother Paddy Kerrisk. May His Soul Rest in Peace.
