Club Notes

May 19, 2014

Congratulations to our Féile hurling team who reached the semi final on Saturday. A narrow defeat in the first game was followed by wins over St.Judes and Kilmacud. Then it was off to Martin Savage Park for the semi final where the lads put on a great display against the home team. The team is managed by Jack McDonald and Cillian O’Driscoll. Brian Powell also helps to coach the lads.

Well done to our minor hurlers who took part in an tournament in Leixlip and were victorious.

We had wins also for our under 8 and 11 camogie girls and our under 12 boys. It’s nice to see so many of the adult and under 15 camogie girls helping out with juvenile teams. We ask all adult players to help out in their respective juvenile sections.

Good luck to our Adult ladies football team who commence their championship campaign this week.

Our adult hurlers are back in league action at the weekend. The seniors have a vital game away to Raheny on Saturday evening while the juniors play on Sunday.

As you are all aware, the club runs a very busy coffee shop on Saturday mornings. We need help with this venture. If we can put a team together, it only involves a couple of hours a month. Would you like to help? If so, talk to Lorinda Kinnane. Thank you.

Congratulations to the Clann mearnóg Ceili band who reached the Leinster final at the Dublin Fleadh recently.

A major drive is taking place to recruit players for our Rounders section. Rounders is suitable for all ages and all skill levels. If you would like to get involved, please contact Michael Geoghegan.

Well done to Aodhan Fee who played for the Dublin minor footballers in their win over Meath. He is certainly a player for the future.

All membership fees are now overdue and must be paid immediately. Please contact Club Registrar Harry Gibson.

The annual Louise Fitzpatrick Big Picnic in aid of Barrettstown Castle take place in Malahide Castle on the 21st of June. Please support this wonderful cause and honour the memory of our departed friend.
