March 23, 2015

Our big Adult Games fundraising QUIZ takes place on Saturday night at 8pm. Tables of 5 cost €50. We have great prizes for the winners and lots of very valuable raffle prizes also. We need the support of everybody. So, please make an effort and come along.

Congratulations to Shane Carthy and his Dublin under 21 colleagues on reaching the Leinster football final where they will play Kildare. We currently have 5 players on the Dublin under 16 camogie squad. They are Lauren Delaney, Emma Forde, Ciara Holland, Aoibhe Dillon and Sarah Brennan. We are also well represented on the senior team by Caitriona Power, Miriam Twomey and Laura Twomey. Good luck to all of them.

The under 13 camogie girls had another impressive win. Our adult hurlers are back in action this weekend. The seniors play Kilmacud at home on Saturday evening while the juniors are away to Lucan on Sunday afternoon. Our minor footballers are at home on Sunday morning.

Thank you to the organisers and to all who supported the Camogie fundraiser on Friday night. It was a great success.

To facilitate the payment of outstanding membership fees, the club is holding a Registration night on Friday night at 8pm. If your fees are due you must come along and pay them otherwise you will be unable to play for your team from the 1st of April.

The club is running an “Operation Transformation” programme in early May. The event will be overseen by Cliodhna O’Connor and will be similar to the one on TV but without the photographs and revealing attire. We are looking for 30 volunteers who would like to improve their fitness level and perhaps “slim down” a little.

Once again, we appeal to all members especially our players to use the club when they are going out socialising. It is vital that we all support the club at all levels. Don’t forget that you can hire our function room or bar for private parties. We show all major sporting events on our big screens and finger food is served.

We extend our sympathy to adult hurler Michael O’Brien on the death of his father William. May his Soul Rest in Peace
