Club Notes
July 25, 2016
Well done to our senior footballers who recorded another important league win against St. Pat’s Donabate on Saturday evening. With 3 games remaining, they now sit joint second in the league. It’s been a good year for the lads so far and we also have the championship encounter against O’Toole’s to look forward to.
Our junior footballers gained 2 valuable league points after defeating Crumlin in a hard fought encounter on Sunday morning. One more win might be a cause for celebration.
We wish our club colleague Ciara Holland all the best as she the lines out for the Dublin under 16 ladies football team in the All Ireland final against Kerry in Nenagh on Wednesday evening. It’s a great honour to play in an All Ireland final and not many get that opportunity.
Our ladies football team have a championship game at home on Wednesday night against Skerries. Major rebuilding of this team has taken place over the last few years and we thank the mentors and committee for all their efforts Please come along and support them.
As it is generally quiet on the playing fields at the moment, many of our teams are arranging friendlies. Please remember that all challenge games juvenile and adult must have county board approval in advance. Talk to either the club Secretary or the Secretary of your section.
The club Lotto Jackpot is now €7600. The draw takes place in our members bar each Sunday night. We ask all members and friends to continue to support this vital aspect of our club finances.
At a ceremony in the club on Thursday night Declan McConnell presented a cheque to representatives from Crumlin Hospital. These funds were raised at the recent Paddy McConnell tournament and we thank all of you for your generous support of this very worthy cause.
Sunday afternoons have become a great family occasion in our members bar and we encourage more of you to come along and enjoy all the major sporting events on our big screens. Food is also available.
Many of you will be going on holidays over the next few weeks. Please be careful and return safely.
