Naomh Mearnóg Club Notes – 13 August 2018

Recent and Upcoming Games – Well done to our adult hurlers who recorded an impressive win away against St. Kevin’s on Sunday morning. This was a strong team effort but the excellent performance of Dara O’Boyle deserves mention.

After a fine year, the journey finally ended for Grainne Skelton, Sophie Brennan and the Dublin under 16 camogie girls when they were beaten by a strong Galway outfit in the All Ireland semi-final.

Next Saturday evening at 6:15 at home, our senior footballers play Skerries Harps in a crucial league game. Both teams are in contention for the promotion playoffs and the result of this game is vital. All Club members are asked to come along and support the lads.

Well done to the Dublin ladies football team who have reached the All Ireland semi-final where they will play Galway in what promises to be an absolute “cracker”.

Tickets for the All Ireland Football Final – Congratulations to the “Dubs” who have reached their 4th consecutive All Ireland final. Tickets for the All Ireland Football Final should be ordered as soon as possible from Dan Linehan by text only at 085 1530569. As in previous years we expect that orders for tickets will well exceed the number of tickets that we will be allocated by the Dublin County Board. Last year we had 238 orders for tickets and we were allocated 64 Stand and 41 Terrace tickets. We are limiting ticket orders to one ticket per member and are requesting that members specify whether they want a stand or terrace ticket. Members are also requested not to order a ticket for non-members. The allocation of tickets will be carried out by a Sub-Committee of the Club’s Executive and tickets will only be allocated to fully paid-up members of the Club.

Don’t forget, if you are not going to the Football Final or the Hurling Final this Sunday you can watch the matches (and all other major sporting events) on our big screens. All are welcome.

Naomh Mearnóg Summer Camps – The last Camp is the Mearnog Camp 2 (including a pre-school camp for girls and boys who will be starting school in September) and it runs from next Monday to Friday (20 to 24 August). Full details are on the Club’s website at https://naomhmearnog.ie/juvenile/summer-camps/

Club Lotto – The numbers drawn in this week’s Club Lotto were 4, 10, 21 and 23. There was no winner. The Jackpot is now €3,850. Please ensure you always have a ticket.

The chances of winning similar amounts on the Club Lotto are way ahead of those on the National Lotto. For example, the chances of winning the Club Lotto Jackpot are actually better than the chances of winning just €150 on the National Lottery!
