On Saturday we host the boy’s football Féile and we extend a Céad Míle Fáilte to our visitors from Naomh Olaf, Beann Eadair and Ballinteer. Good luck to all involved and in particular to Derek, David, Aidan and our own squad.
It was good weekend for our adult football teams who were all in championship action. On Friday night, the seniors had an impressive win over Erin’s Isle. We now face a “winner takes all” game against St Anne’s when the competition resumes in the autumn. On Sunday morning our Junior A team was extremely unlucky to lose to a good Whitehall side by the minimum margin. The Junior B lads travelled to Marley Park in the afternoon and came away with the spoils. Our minor hurlers were involved in a high quality game with neighbours St. Sylvester’s which ended in a draw.
Congratulations to Conor Archer who had a good game for the Dublin Minor footballers in their defeat of Meath.
Our adult hurlers are back in championship action at home at the weekend. Our Inter team take on Parnells at 6pm on Saturday while our juniors take on Erin Go Bragh at 3pm on Sunday.
Our senior camogie team drew with St. Vincent’s B and face another vital game away to Raheny at 7-30 on Tuesday. The under 16s were in flying form this week defeating Faughs on Tuesday and Good Counsel on Saturday. The under 13s defeated Kilmacud. Well done to Laura Maddock, Alison Maddock and Ella Kenny who proudly represented the club in the Camogie Féile skills competition.
In ladies football, our under 16s defeated Round Towers Clondalkin in a high scoring game and are now 3rd in the league. Our under 13s defeated Lucan to go top of the table. The level of activity in our ladies football section is incredible and our under 12s, 11s, 10s, 9s and 8s were also in action. At those age groups the most important element is fun and that was certainly in evidence. Well done to all.
On Saturday night we have our Hog Roast and there are still a few tickets available at the bar. Come along, a great nights entertainment is guaranteed.
Once again we remind all members and visitors to the club to be security conscious. Lock all cars, leave nothing on display. Dressing rooms must be locked at all times.
A small number of membership fees remain outstanding, these must be paid immediately. Please contact Club Treasurer Michael Hannon.
