Senior Football league – Saturday 2nd March 2024
Posted March 5, 2024
Naomh Mearnóg made a slow start in what turned out to be a tough, physical game.
The lads got a goal early on, with point for point over the next 15 mins. The game was level at half time.
The team came out of the blocks in the 2nd half and kicked on with the substitutions making a big difference. It
was tight heading into the last ten minutes,
when we were awarded penalty, taking the point to keep a 3 point lead. A final point was to come, finishing off the
game with a 4 point win.
Good displays from Eoin Kelly, Rory O’Loughlin & Frank Doyle in defence, while forwards, Karl Lynch Bissett,
Michael Gibbs & Aodhan Fee kept the pressure on up front
Karl Lynch Bissett scored 2-05 of our 2-11,
& was awarded the DIY David Man of the Match Award.
