All Ireland Club 7s fever hits Naomh Mearnóg

Posted September 25, 2015

The last Sunday in September is fast approaching and as has been the practice for the past 15 years, clubs from all over the country and indeed Great Britain, Europe and the United States converge on Naomh Mearnóg and St Sylvester’s on Saturday 26 September in what is the biggest 7a-side competition in Ireland.

We’re delighted to once again host this fantastic tournament and we would like to thank the Ladies Association who have placed their faith in us and our Ground Force team and our Ladies Group who volunteer not just on the day but in the week leading up to this great event.

In what is a great feat we provide 18 pitches, all lined, flagged and with goals erected and facilities, for the 90 teams (1,080 players) that descend on Portmarnock and everything runs like clockwork with our volunteers making every player and supporter very welcome visitors to our club.
We hope that we can emulate our successes of 2002 and 2007 in this great tournament.

We hope that all our young players will come along and support our girls who get the competition under way at 10am on Saturday morning.

On Sunday, 80 of our under age players head for Croke Park to cheer on Dublin as they seek to regain the Brendan Martin Cup.
