U14s footballers perform well at Féile na nÓg
Posted May 17, 2015
Our U14s performed brilliantly in their opening game versus Round Towers, coming from six pts down to win by five.
They just fell short of qualifying for the semi finals after losing out to Na Fianna by a couple of points. Even though Mearnóg controlled the bulk of possession and played some great football, a couple of well taken goals from Na Fianna undid us. There were great performances throughout our panel on the day, with great passages of football put together in both the Round Towers and Na Fianna games. Our ‘never say die’ spirit really shined through, which is very promising for the future. An example of this spirit was Adam Hughes, who took a very strong knock while going for a ball that many would have pulled out of. The squad felt they learned a lot from the Féile and are looking forward to working hard in training, and finishing strongly in this years league Div 2.
