A great day’s golfing!

The 16th anniversary of Naomh Mearnog Annual Golf Classic took place in Malahide Golf Club on Thursday, 3rd July.

30 teams [4 persons per team / Stableford – 2 to score at each hole] took part.  There was a great buzz of excitement all day.  The golf course was in superb condition and after a shot gun start, everyone was treated to a burger and drinks at the 9th hole [sponsored by J.W. Smyth Butchers].

The prize giving took place after a beautiful meal in the club house and the winners were Team Mick Sheehan, Derek Mooney, Gary Curtin and Philip Grant, with a great score of 95 points.  The winning team, in addition to the first prize of 4 wine hampers, were presented with the Joe Reale Perpetual Trophy by Eileen and Ciaran Reale.  Joe, who organised this event for many years, recently passed away and is greatly missed by all of us.

Music and craic into the early hours with our band Loose Chippings was enjoyed by all.
