Naomh Mearnóg Club Notes – 3 September 2018
Recent and Upcoming Games – It was a good week for our young hurlers in the championship. The under 16s defeated neighbours St. Sylvester’s while the under 15s had an impressive win over Faughs. Well done lads.
Our adult hurlers finish the group stage of the championship with an away game against Naomh Fionbarra on Saturday evening at 6pm. Unbeaten in the championship, we need support.
Club Raffle for All Ireland Football Final Tickets – The winners of the raffle held on Saturday night for two stand tickets for the football final were Frances Dillon and Jack White. Many thanks to everyone who bought tickets in the raffle.
All Ireland Football Final – Well done to Stephen Cluxton and the Dubs on winning Sam for the 4th time in a row.
All Ireland Premier Junior Camogie Final – Good luck to Aoibhe Dillon, Grainne Power, Laura Walsh and the Dublin Premier Junior Camogie team in the All Ireland final against Kerry in Croke Park on Sunday.
Ladies Gaelic Football – The Club is looking for adult players for our Ladies football team. Please contact Cliodhna O’Connor or Mark Bedford.
Social Football – 2018 marks the 60th anniversary of Dublin’s minor football triumph over Mayo. Club legend Mick Kissane was part of the team and is still going strong on the field of play. To mark the occasion, a special game of Social football was held recently with Mick captaining a “Dublin” selection. Social football is for everybody and is played on Wednesday evenings at 9 and at 4 on Saturdays. Contact Peter O’Donovan for more details.
Club Lotto – The numbers drawn in this week’s Club Lotto were 6, 9, 11 and 14. There was no winner. The Jackpot is now €4,300. Please ensure you always have a ticket.
The chances of winning similar amounts on the Club Lotto are way ahead of those on the National Lotto. Your chances of winning the Club Lotto Jackpot are actually better than the chances of winning just €150 on the National Lottery! Play online athttps://www.locallotto.ie/
LGFA Sevens – 15 September – On Saturday the 15th of September, the Club is hosting the ladies football All Ireland 7s. All pitches at the Club will be in use all day. The usual helpers (and more) will be required. Contact Frank Lynch.
