Club Notes

September 23, 2015

Our good friend, Sam Maguire is back in town after an absence of a year. Well done to Jim Gavin and the entire squad who made it a “clean sweep” by winning all competitions available to them this year. A remarkable achievement. We are all looking forward to seeing Sam at the club in the weeks ahead.

Congratulations to our senior footballers who had a very impressive win over St. Anne’s in the league on Saturday evening. This was one of their best performances of the year and it’s good to see our young players blending in to the team so well. We had wins also for our under 14 and 16 camogie girls and the u14 and 15 ladies football teams.

On Saturday we are hosting the Ladies football All Ireland 7s. All pitches at the clubhouse will be in use for the entire day. Home fixtures will be played in Carrickhill. The usual helpers will be required to help run the event. Please contact Frank Lynch.

Good luck to the “Jackies” who contest the All Ireland final on Sunday against arch rivals Cork. Hopefully Brendan Martin will be joining Sam Maguire as our guest of honour in Dublin this winter.

Our junior hurlers have a vital away game against Ballinteer next Sunday. Please support.
