Club Notes

September 15, 2014

Congratulations to our junior camogie girls who won their Summer cup with a hard earned victory over Faughs on Sunday morning. Along with their management team of Padraic Gilligan, Lisa Kiernan and Tom O’Sullivan, this very young squad worked extremely hard over the last few months and richly deserve their success. A full report on the game plus pictures appear elsewhere on our website.

Our under 15 footballers got their championship campaign off to a positive start with an impressive victory over Scoil Ui Connaill. The minor footballers had a mighty battle with Clannna Gael eventually winning this high quality championship match with the help of a very late goal. We had victories also for our adult and under 14 ladies football teams and our under 11 camogie girls. Well done to all our teams.

On Saturday, the club is hosting a Family Fun Day. This is a community event and all are welcome. So please come along.

Well done to all who took part in the SOCKS charity cycle. It was a great success.

Thank you to all who helped in the running of the camogie blitz on Saturday. As usual, everything ran smoothly.

On Saturday the 27th, we are again hosting the All Ireland ladies football 7′s. Admission is free and all are welcome.

We wish to remind all mentors that teams preparing for important competitive games will be given priority on the All Weather pitch at the moment.

We extend our sympathy the Byrne family on the death of Peter. Peter is the grandfather of under 15 star Calum. May His Soul Rest in Peace.
