Club Notes

November 10, 2014

Well done to our minor and under 21 footballers who both had impressive wins in the championship over the weekend. On Saturday, the under 21s travelled to Ballyboughal and put on a great display. On Sunday morning at home, the minors defeated St. Olaf’s in a tight encounter.

The Naas under 8 boys were our guests on Saturday morning. They played 2 games against our own team and afterwards enjoyed light refreshments in our function room. Well done to St. Helen’s Senior school girls football team who won their Cumann na mBunscoil final last week.  The under 15 camogie final replay takes place at home next weekend. See fixtures for details and support the girls.

As the weather deteriorates, our pitches are getting very soft. Mentors are asked to abide by the wishes of the pitch committee. Our AGM takes place on the 5th of December. We are looking for nominations for all positions on the new executive. Nominations must be proposed and seconded and submitted in writing to the club secretary in the next 3 weeks. Motions for discussion or consideration must also be submitted in the same manner.

Our Chairman’s Dinner takes place on the 22nd November. Tickets are available for any member of the committee or from Eamonn in the bar. Our annual mass takes place on the 6th of December at 8pm. This will be followed by our mentors and helpers night. Anyone who helps out in any aspect of running the club is welcome.

The club Lotto jackpot is now €10,000 and well worth winning. Please ensure that you have a ticket each week. We wish to remind mentors to turn off the lights and lock all dressing rooms after training.

Our Adult Games committee are in the process of recruiting a senior hurling manager. If you are interested, please contact Thomas McGowan, Adult Games Chairman.
