Club Notes

November 1, 2016

Congratulations to our senior 6 camogie team on their great win over Setanta in the championship. This is is a fantastic group of very dedicated players and are well deserving of their victory. The team is managed by Tom O’Sullivan, Colm Delaney, Lisa Kiernan, Joan O’Connor and Carol O’Sullivan
Well done to our senior footballers who had an impressive win over St. Mary’s to guarantee a home semi final in the playoffs.
Our junior hurlers are still in contention for promotion despite losing the final league game to Cuala by 4 points. We will have to go the slightly more “scenic route” now.
Our AGM takes place on Thursday the 24th of November at 8pm in the clubhouse. Nominations and motions must be submitted to the club secretary by the 4th of November.

Johnny Owens has recently taken up the role as Health & Wellbeing Officer for our club. Johnny’s main role is to assist club members who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental or physical health. His role will be to help those in need to access the most appropriate services or support. He will also be helping to raise awareness of the various health and wellbeing topics and initiatives that are being rolled out by the GAA and other agencies.

If you are experiencing difficulty with your mental health or physical health and are unsure where to go for appropriate support, please do not hesitate to contact Johnny on 087 783 8177 or at johnnyjowens@gmail.com. All questions or queries are welcome and he would be only too happy to help in any way that he can.

If anyone in the club is interested in becoming involved and assisting Johnny in this role, please drop him a line.

Johnny is a qualified social worker and he is working in the field of youth mental health. He also plays for the adult  hurling team in the club.
