Club Notes

May 8, 2018

Please Take Care Driving to and from the Club Grounds – Members and visitors to the Club are asked to take extreme care while driving to and from the Club and to especially watch out for children playing on the way into and out of the Club through Torcaill and also on the Club’s car parks.

Recent and Upcoming Games – It was a mixed week for our adult hurlers. On Wednesday, our AHL3 team made it 3 wins from 3 in the championship when they defeated St. Vincent’s. This almost certainly guarantees us a place in the knockout stages. On Saturday, the lads travelled to St. Pergrines for an important league game. However after a good game, we lost out by 2 points. Our junior B hurlers won their championship encounter on Thursday evening and remain in contention for the knockout phase.

Thank you to St. Maurs for their hospitality when hosting the football Féile at the weekend. Our own team performed well but lost out on a semi-final spot in what was a strong group. Well done to all concerned.

Well done to the Dublin Ladies football team on winning their first ever Division 1 league title.

Our senior footballers have a crucial fixture on Wednesday evening when they travel to Botharnabreena to play St. Annes at 7-15.  Please support all our teams.

Govan Jolliffe Byrne Memorial Tournament – A reminder that our annual Govan Jolliffe Byrne tournament takes place on Saturday the 2nd of June when we host 16 teams from all over the country in an under 13 football competition. This is a massive undertaking and we will need people to help with a variety of jobs. Contact Esther Hoban or any member of the organising committee.

Club Bar – The Club is recruiting part-time staff for the Club Bar. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and should contact Eamon in the Club Bar for further details.

The GAA season is about to kick into full swing and we would like remind you that we show all games on our big screens. So, please come along where food is also available.
