March 7, 2016
We had another very good weekend on the playing fields. Our junior hurlers got their season off to a fine start with an away win over Thomas Davis. The minor footballers remain unbeaten in the league after their win over Naomh Baróg. The under 15 footballers came from 7 points down to defeat Na Fianna while the under 14s had an impressive win over a very good Ballymun side. The under 13s travelled to Parnells for a top of the table clash in their grading league and came away with the spoils. Our camogie girls were in action also. The under 13 team defeated Erin’s Isle in their first league game while the Senior 5 team had a very impressive win over Good Counsel in the Cup. Our senior hurlers started their league campaign against Kilmacud Crokes. Despite missing several key players the lads put on a spirited display but unfortunately came up short in the end. Congratulations to all teams and mentors for their great efforts.
The adult fixtures next weekend are. Senior footballers are away to Ballinteer on Sunday at 10.30, the AFL 5 team are at home to Cuala at 12 and our minor hurlers are away to Erin’s Isle at 11. The minor ladies football team have an away game against Lucan on Saturday at 3pm
Support for our teams remains disappointingly low and once again we ask all members when possible to support our teams as often as possible.
Once again we remind all members that membership fees are now due and must be paid immediately.
Our Gala Ball takes place on Saturday night. There are still a few tickets available. Please contact Jim Carrol or Eamonn in the bar.
We extend our sympathy to the Drumm family on the death of Bernie’s father John. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
