Club Notes

March 11, 2019

Well done to our adult hurlers who made it 2 wins from 2 in the league with an impressive victory over St. Pats of Palmerstown. Next up is a home fixture against St. Peregrines. Our minor footballers defeated Round Towers Clondalkin by the minimum margin in a tough home fixture. The under 15 footballers were in a high scoring mood as they overcame Skerries.

In camogie, the under 16s overcame a talented Erin’s Isle side to bring home 2 valuable league points from Finglas. The under 13s travelled to a windy Sandyford where they fought a hard battle eventually getting a draw against St. Olaf’s.  Amid great excitement, our under 8 girls played their first game.

In ladies football, our under 14s came from 7 points down to eventually win by 2 against Templeogue. Well done to all teams and mentors.

The Dublin senior hurlers enjoyed the use of our training facilities on Saturday. We wish Mattie Kenny and the squad all the best in their league quarter final against Tipperary next Sunday and in the championship season ahead.

Congratulations to Kathleen Colreavy who received the Presidents Award for her massive contribution to Ladies football at both club and county level over the last number of years. Indeed, Kathleen’s contribution at club level extends way beyond ladies football. Herself and her husband Michael have been tireless contributors to virtually all projects undertaken by the club over many years.

You are all invited to our St. Patrick’s Day party which takes place between 3 and 7. In the hall we will have a kids disco, puppet show, face painting and giant board games. In the bar we will be showing the GAA club finals and there will be traditional Irish music. All are welcome, admission is free, so please come along.

The new season of Operation Transformation begins on the 18th. Contact Michael Hannon for full details.

A reminder that all membership fees are now due and must be paid immediately.

We have had an great response to the community outreach team, thanks to those who have gotten involved. We are looking for help in three specific areas.. updating the content on the website, sending club emails and a graphic designer to help with promoting events. If you’re interested please email pro.naomhmearnog.dublin@gaa.ie.
