Club Notes

July 14, 2014

Well done to Aodhán Fee who put on a fine display for the Dublin minor footballers in their victory over Offaly in the Leinster semi final. Aodhán is one of our most talented young players and we look forward to seeing him in action in the final. Tickets ordered for the finals can be collected from Dan Linehan in the club on Thursday night at 8pm.

Congratulations to Denise, Cliodhna and the Dublin Ladies football team who had a very impressive win over Laois in their Leinster final. Their quarter final opponents will be decided over the next few weeks. Well done also to Stephanie Carthy who won the Dublin and Leinster Puc Fada competition last week. She will now take part in the All Ireland final which takes place later in the month.

Our club teams had another very good week. The senior footballers continued their good run with a hard earned win over Naomh Baróg while our AFL 5 team had a very impressive win over St. Brigids. The camogie girls remain unbeaten in the Summer Cup after defeating Parnells. This is a very young squad and it is great to see them making progress. They play St Finnians on Tuesday 15th at home

Our hurlers are back in action this week. The seniors have 2 vital games. On Wednesday night, we play Naomh Olaf away in the championship at 7.30 and on Saturday evening at 6 30, we play Naomh Fionnbarra at home in the league. Our junior hurlers have a date with Whitehall away on Thursday night at 7.30 in the championship.

The Adult Ladies football league resumes this week. We play St. Judes at home tonight (Monday) in the league. Similar to our camogie group, this is a very young squad who are making good progress.

Please support all our teams in their efforts

On Saturday, we hosted an Inter County camogie Blitz with almost 40 teams involved. Once again, the event ran smoothly thanks to the hard work of all the organisers.

All membership fees are now overdue and must be paid immediately. Please contact Club registrar Harry Gibson or you can pay the money to Eamonn in the club.
