Club Notes

January 19, 2015

As we are about to commence a new playing season, we wish all our mentors and players the very best of luck and we urge our members to support all teams as often as possible.

A special word of welcome to David Kennedy and Cormac Sugrue who are the new managers of our senior hurling and football teams respectively.

We have 2 big games next weekend. On Saturday our under 21 footballers play Round Towers Clondalkin in the championship at home at 2 pm and on Sunday morning our minor footballers are in the championship final in Parnells ground against Oliver Plunketts at 10 30am. Please support the lads.

Well done to Shane Carthy who continues to impress for the “Dubs” in their O’Byrne Cup campaign.

Congratulations to Patrick Reale and Aoife Mullins who got engaged recently.

All membership fees are now due.

This is an expensive time of the year for all clubs and it would be of great help if members would pay their fees immediately. Various incentives exist for early payment.

Award winning traditional group “Goitse” will appear in the club on Saturday the 31st of January at 7.30pm. Tickets cost €12.50 and are available from Tim Maher, Noel Rooney or Neasa Ní Laoghaire. A great night is guaranteed. Please come along.

A number of our young people are heading to Africa to do charity work in the next few weeks. They are looking for some old hurleys to bring with them. Do you have any? If so, leave them at the club.

Ciaran O’Callaghan is the new chairman of our Adult Games committee. We wish him well and we thank outgoing chairman Thomas McGowan for all his hard work.
