Despite the dreadful conditions, the adult playing season go off to a very positive start for our teams. Our senior footballers travelled to Erin’s Isle and came away with a hard earned but well deserved draw. It was good to see Kevin O’Brien back in action. Our AFL5 team had a home date with Garristown which also ended in a draw. This team is managed by Cormac Doherty, Conor Kavanagh and Padraic Doherty. Despite being short a number of players, our minor hurlers had a good win against Setanta. Well done to all.
Next weekend sees the replay of our senior hurling cup fixture against St. Sylvesters. See fixture list for time and date.
Congratulations to Caitriona Power and her Dublin camogie colleagues who defeated Derry in the first round of the league.
Well done to the Dublin senior hurlers on a very impressive win over Kilkenny.
On Friday night we had the pleasure of hosting the St. Laurence’s under 15 ladies football team from Manchester. They played our girls in a very entertaining friendly and afterwards enjoyed light refreshments.
All pitches are extremely wet and will remain fully closed until the weekend at the earliest. The only areas available for training are the Mound Field, the All Weather pitch and behind pitch 6.
