Club Notes

February 22, 2016

Well done to our minor footballers who started their league campaign with a hard earned win over Raheny. It’s great to see so many recent former players involved with this team. We need much more of this. Our senior footballers and hurlers were in cup action against Naomh Olaf’s and Oliver Plunketts respectively. Both codes will have learned valuable lessons from those encounters. Our under 12 hurlers defeated Lucan while the under 13 footballers continued their impressive run with a home win against St. Brigid’s. Our under 13 camogie girls had a challenge game against Whitehall.

Well done to Rebecca Cooke and Sophie Brennan who are part of the Dublin under 14 ladies football squad that defeated Meath. Well done also to Shane Carthy who was part of the DCU squad that reached the all Dublin Sigerson Cup final.

Romance is certainly in the air at the moment for players and former players. We send our congratulations to Niall Feeney and Ashleigh Freedman, Brian McCarthy and Tara Heffernan and to Aishling Fallon and Peter Collins on their recent engagements.

Adult football leagues commence next weekend and our senior footballers are at home on Sunday morning at 11 against Round Towers. Our minor hurlers have a home league fixture against Rialto Gaels. Support for our teams is not as good as it should be. So we ask all of you to get out and support the lads.

Our Gala night takes place on the 12th of March. A limited number of tickets are available from Jim Carroll or from Eamonn in the bar.

All membership fees are now due and must be paid immediately.
