Over 150 people attended our AGM on Friday night. Outgoing Chairman Conor Kavanagh reported on a very successful year both on and off the the fields of play. The main focus of a lengthy and positive debate was the further development of our games in all codes in the years ahead. We welcome new chairman Michael Hannon and we wish him all the best for his 3 year tenure. A sincere thank you to Conor Kavanagh who worked tirelessly for the club during his term of office. The full list of Club Officers for the year ahead is, Chairman Michael Hannon, Vice-Chairman Thomas McGowan, Secretary Tim Maher, Treasurer Donal Waters, Registrar Adrian Kavanagh, PRO Tony Owens, Childrens Officer Daire Eagney, Officer for Irish Language and Culture Pat Monaghan.
Our minor footballers put on a fantastic display on Sunday morning against Na Fianna. In a high quality game they eventually won by 3 points to reach the semi final despite trailing by 8 points with 20 minutes remaining. That semi final is scheduled for next weekend. Please watch the fixture list and ensure that you support the lads.
Thanks very much to Fr. Gary Darby who celebrated our annual Mass on Saturday night. As usual, this was a well attended and very special occasion. Thank you also to the organisers. This was followed by our mentors and helpers night where a big crowd enjoyed themselves.
Our successful Under 15 footballers were presented with their medals on Saturday evening by Dublin star Shane Carthy. We wish to remind all members that our function rooms can be hired for a variety of celebrations. Contact Eamonn in the bar.
The club Lotto jackpot is now €10,000 and needs to be won. Please ensure that you are in with a chance by buying your ticket early.
Don’t forget our married V singles games on St. Stephens Day. The Hurling is at 12, followed immediately by the football. All are welcome.
