Club Notes

December 11, 2018

Mentors and Helpers Appreciation Night – Our annual Mentors and Helpers Appreciation Night takes place on Thursday night starting at 8:30pm. If you help out with any aspect of Club activity, you are welcome to come along.

Recent and Upcoming Games – Well done to our minor camogie girls who have reached the championship final after an impressive win over Raheny. Our opponents in the final will be St. Peregrines and that game is scheduled to take place next Sunday afternoon (16 December) at 2 pm in Parnells.

Club AGM – Congratulations to Andrew Rittweger who was elected club Chairperson at our AGM on Thursday night. Andrew is a Portmarnock native and played for the club all the way up through the grades. He has also managed our senior hurlers and was Chairperson previously in 2006. We wish him well and we look forward to his no nonsense approach. We say thank you to outgoing Chairman Michael Hannon who steps down after 4 years. Michael will however continue as Treasurer. We have a new camogie Chairperson also where Siobhan Crean-Lynch takes over from Gerry Carthy. We wish Siobhan all the best and we thank Gerry for all his efforts. A full report on both meetings will appear on our website later.

National Club Draw – We are looking for volunteers to sell tickets next weekend for the National Club Draw. All money collected goes to the Club. Contact Siobhan Crean Lynch or Michael Hannon. The top prize in the National Club Draw is a Renault Clio 4 Expression and the other 19 prizes include All Ireland Final Packages and hotel/travel/shopping vouchers. All tickets bought before 6 pm on Saturday 22 December will be entered into a Special Club Christmas Raffle for a Ladies/Gents Mountain Bike sponsored by Jimmy’s Bike Shop, a Turkey & Ham Voucher sponsored by JW Smyth Family Butchers, a Wine Hamper sponsored by Jus de Vine and other prizes. Tickets are available in the Club Bar and online at https://www.myclubfinances.com/tickets_

Club Lotto – The numbers drawn in this week’s Club Lotto were 2, 11, 18 and 19. There was no winner. The Jackpot is now €6,400. What would you do with €6,400 Tax Free? Next Sunday there will also be the traditional Special Club Lotto Christmas Draw with bottle of spirits and wine plus boxes of biscuits and sweets to be won.
