Naomh Mearnóg Club Notes – 27 August 2018
Recent Death – We extend our sympathy to the Bedford family on the death of Mark’s mother Mary (Dorrie) and to the McCann family on the death of Eileen. Eileen is the grandmother of club players Killian and Aaron O’Driscoll. May Mary’s and Eileen’s Soul Rest in Peace.
Recent and Upcoming Games – Our adult hurlers play their last league game of the year against Commercials at home on Saturday at 3pm. The championship season is around the corner for our juvenile boys and girls teams and we wish all of them the best of luck. Our under 16 hurlers start their campaign at home this Tuesday evening against Naomh Olaf at 7-15. Come on folks, let’s get out there and support our teams.
Congratulations to the Dublin ladies football team who have reached the All Ireland final where they will meet arch rivals Cork on the 16th of September.
Club Raffle for All Ireland Football Final Tickets – The Club is raffling two tickets for the All Ireland Football Final. Please note that there are two prizes of one ticket each. The raffle will take place in the Club Bar at 9 pm on Saturday night and the winners will be notified immediately afterwards.
Tickets for the All Ireland Football Final – As usual orders for tickets have well exceeded the number of tickets that we have been allocated by the Dublin County Board. This year we have 177 orders for tickets and we were allocated 55 Stand, 15 Hill and 15 Nally tickets. The allocation of tickets is being carried out by a Sub-Committee of the Club’s Executive and details of the ticket allocations will be published on Wednesday night and tickets will be available for collection later on this week (details to follow).
Don’t forget, if you are not going to the Football Final you can watch the match (and all other major sporting events) on our big screens. All are welcome.
Club Lotto – The numbers drawn in this week’s Club Lotto were 13, 15, 16 and 25. There was no winner. The Jackpot is now €4,150. Please ensure you always have a ticket.
The chances of winning similar amounts on the Club Lotto are way ahead of those on the National Lotto. Your chances of winning the Club Lotto Jackpot are actually better than the chances of winning just €150 on the National Lottery! Play online athttps://www.locallotto.ie/
LGFA Sevens – 15 September – On Saturday the 15th of September, the club is hosting the ladies football All Ireland 7s. All pitches at the club will be in use all day. The usual helpers (and more) will be required. Contact Frank Lynch.
