Well done to our junior camogie team who won their Summer cup final on Saturday with and impressive victory over Na Fianna.
Just 7 points separated the sides at half time and our girls had to face the breeze in the second half. Despite this, the girls pushed on and by the 40th minute had effectively sealed victory.
We started the game brightly with three points in the first 9 minutes from the stick of the impressive Leanne Walsh.
Emma Ford was a very composed goalkeeper. The puck out strategy of finding U16 Dublin star Aoibhe Dillon invariably worked and we closed the half with points from Ellen Kenny, and goals from Aoibhe Dillon and Sarah Brennan after great work by Orlaith Fahy.
Leanne Walsh drove a great free into the breeze and over the bar after just 37 seconds of the second half.
With Niamh Foley anchoring the defence superbly at No. 6, our opponents could not find a way through. If Leanne Walsh was the scorer in chief in the first half, it was the turn of Lauren Delaney to get in on the act with the first of four points from play in the 33rd minute. A minute later the game ended as a contest when Sarah Brennan finished an Aoibhe Dillon centre to the net for her second goal of the game. Aileen Cox gave a commanding display at full back.

Good luck to Cian Hendricken and his Dublin minor hurling colleagues in the All Ireland semi final on Sunday.
This is a very busy week for our hurlers with 3 home games. On Thursday, our juniors play Fingallians in the league. On Saturday evening our seniors play Commercials in the championship quarter final while on Sunday our juniors play Thomas Davis also in the championship quarter final. Please support our lads.
Tickets for the Dublin Mayo game must be ordered from Dan Linehan immediately.
Our Under 16 footballers recorded an impressive win over neighbours St. Sylvester’s last week.
Congratulations to Niamh Cahill and Mick Hayden who got married at the weekend.
We extend our sympathy to the Maher family on the death of Neasa’s brother Seán O’Gradaigh and to the Ford family on the death of Damian’s mother Cathy. May the Souls of Seán and Cathy Rest in Peace.
