Féile Champions. Now doesn’t that sound good? . Congratulations to our Ladies football team who won the Féile at the weekend. Having been drawn in a tough group at home on Saturday, the girls won all their group games and also won their semi final that afternoon. This set up a trip to Peregrines at noon on Sunday for the final where the opposition was a talented Cuala outfit. In a most dramatic game, our girls were victorious thanks to a very late goal. As the referee blew the final whistle, players, parents, mentors and supporters went a little bit mad and watched with pride as team captain Ciara Holland was presented with the cup.
Afterwards, it was back to the club where a huge party took place. The group were welcomed by club chairman Conor Kavanagh. Then, in what was a very special moment Ladies football stalwart Michael Walsh presented the girls with their medals. Congratulations to the management team of Ciaran, Brendan, Frank, Gilda, Joan and the entire squad for giving us a very special day.
Our minor hurlers had a good win over Fingallians and we wish them Bon Voyage as they head off on Friday for a 4 day trip to Scotland.
We had victories also for our under 11 camogie girls and our under 11 and 12 boys.
Our AFL 5 team defeated Fingal Ravens.
Preparation for our Strictly Dancing event is going well. If you need tickets you need to book them immediately. They are going like hot cakes.
We wish a speedy recovery to Shane Kavanagh who suffered a bad shoulder injury at the weekend.
Our senior camogie girls are in action tonight (Tuesday) away to Erins Isle.
All membership fees are now due and must be paid immediately.
On Saturday next, we are hosting an inter county Under 15 hurling blitz. A number of our players are in action. So, if you are around the club please come along and support them.
Our club golf outing took place on Friday. With over 70 participants, this was a great success.
