The academy is back! Saturday 10th Sept

Posted August 31, 2016

The Club academy for 4 – 7 year old boys and girls will commence on Saturday September 10th. The Academy is about fun and enjoyment for the children and provides them with an opportunity to make friends and get used to playing GAA.

They will learn the basic motor skills of Gaelic games and will participate in small sided matches. The Academy is managed by Paddy Gorey, our club coach and he is assisted by a team of parents who volunteer and help to run and co-ordinate the drills and the matches! There is also a coffee shop which runs in the clubhouse on Saturday mornings where children and parents get to unwind and relax and meet other families after their activities.

Girls football and Camogie is from 9.45am to 11.15am and boys football and hurling is from 11.30am – 12.30pm. It will take place in Naomh Mearnóg GAA Club and it will run through until June 2016 (except on bank holiday weekends).

The cost is €70 for one child and is restricted to €80 for 2 or more children. The cost will be used to cover insurance and equipment.

All children MUST be registered to attend the Academy. Registration will take place from 8.30 – 9.00 pm on & Thursday 8th September in the GAA Club. Registration can also be completed online. Boys and girls playing in the Under 8 teams must also be registered as they are considered part of the Academy.

Please note that the All Ireland Ladies 7’s football is being hosted by the club on Saturday 24th September and Gaelic Football for mothers will be held on Saturday October 15th. Therefore the Academy will be held from 6.00pm to 7.00pm on the Fridays of those weekends.

If you have any questions, please contact Paddy Gorey on 087 – 311 0735.
