The club are staging the inaugural Govan Jolliffe-Byrne Memorial Trophy this weekend. It should be a brilliant, unique event but the team need some help from club members and the wider Portmarnock community.
We are expecting over 600 people to take part on the day – visiting team players, mentors, supporters etc so the team are asking people if they could help out by bringing either a tray of sandwiches, cakes or biscuits up to the club on the morning of the event between 9.15 and 10.00 to help feed the masses!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, if your interested please contact Barry Mulligan on 086 027 3942.
As a reminder, the team has partnered with the Barnardos charity to fundraise for this worthwhile charity. Barnardos work with vulnerable children and their families in Ireland and campaign for the rights of all children. By providing some food for the participants you will be helping the team reduce their running costs hence allows them give more to the charity at the end of the tournament.
It is a really worthwhile cause and a brilliant initiative from the team and mgmt so get behind it and give them your support!
