It’s been a busy start back after the summer break with matches played against Cuala, St Pats and last week the convoy hit the M50 and headed all the way to Marley Park for a match against Balinteer ( a few parents will be investing in sat nav following that journey!).
This week we had two clubs visit us for some friendly challenge matches, one from Templeogue and the other all the way from the county Down ( who were making a day of it with a trip to Croke Park later in the day). These challenge matches are a nice diversion from the regularly scheduled games and a good chance for the boys to see how other teams play.
Certainly everyone enjoyed the social activities after the matches in the hall and thanks to all of the parents who provided a great selection of food and treats for the kids ( particular thanks to Cora, Mary and Lorinda for coordinating it all).
All of our players continue to advance and develop their skills in both hurling and football. It’s very evident of how much progress the boys are making particularly when they do a bit of practice at home. Those boys who kept a hurl or football in hand throughout the summer are definitely seeing the benefit and overall the standard of passing, kicking and now even blocking and tackling is getting better and better for all the squad – keep up the good work.
