Special Report – Our very own 8-Team!

We thought it was about time we introduced our newest recruits in the juvenile boys section – The 2015 U-8s!

The boys all graduated from the academy after been under the guidance of GPO Paddy Gorey and the academy coaches for the past couple of years and they started their first league campaign in February. The boys are flying it in both football and hurling and are enjoying the Go-Games environment were the focus is on fun, skills and participation.

The mentors of the team are Danny Harrington, Daire Gilmartin, James Kiernan, John Lowry, Larry Kirby, Mark O’Donnell, Robert McNamee, Stephen Rafter and Thomas McGowan. The lads are dedicated to developing the next set of stars for the club senior teams in 2025!!!

The U-8s had a very busy and successful last weekend of Football, with two teams away to Castleknock and two teams at home to Tyrrelstown. The players did exceptionally well with great displays of footballing skill and teamwork. All the players got to play in two matches each and it was great to see how well they are coming on in terms of kicking, passing and positioning. The games were high scoring and were played in a very good spirit. Thanks to the parents who came along and supported the team, they are all very welcome and makes a huge difference to the boys.

Best of luck to the team and mentors this year, hopefully they really enjoy their first season in the club colours.

For more info on the team, training times and mentor contact details, see the teams football and hurling team pages.
