Darren Breen wins silver!

Posted September 24, 2014

Darren Breen, one of our Special Needs footballers has won a silver medal at the Special Olympic European Games!

Darren Breen won a silver medal in the 25 metre freestyle swimming on Tuesday of last week in at the Special Olympic European Games in Wezenberg, Antwerp. Darren and the team arrived back to a huge reception in Dublin Airport, you may well have seen his photograph in Mondays Irish Independent! His medal marked the culmination of months and years of training.

Darren is a keen young sportsman. His all  round interest in Sports includes bowling and rugby.  He lights up our Tuesday night sessions with his sharp sense of humour and his nose for goal. Not to mention his powerful renditions of “Ireland’s Call” in our pre-match huddles! His teammates gave him a huge welcome back to Specials Needs training last night.

The club is very proud of you, Darren! Well done!
