Last Saturday the club again hosted the Paul Beecher Cup for Intercounty teams at Under 15, Under 14 and Under 13 age levels. It was a fantastic day of camogie.
A resounding success on all fronts with a very enjoyable day had by all who turned out to support the various teams from around the country.
In all there were 36 teams with around 740 girls competing in both the Under 14 and 15 age groups.Dublin won both the Under 15A and Under 15B competitions and also the Under 14 age group in fine style. Naomh Mearnóg had players in Sarah Brennan, Ciara Holland, Lauren Delaney, Aoibhe Dillon, Emma Ford, Claire McGowan and Maria Kelly who each played a prominant part in their team’s performance.
Throughout the day and afterwards many compliments were made on the high standard of our facilities and indeed the hugh effort made by all concerned. This is a fitting tribute to our tireless Groundforce crew who keep our grounds so that they are an envy to all, to our traffic marshalls and all the parents and staff who manned the shops and helped out tirelessly throughout the day.
Also congrats to Stephanie Carthy, who in a fine performance, again won the Leister Senior Puc Fada on Saturday in the Curragh. Steph now goes on to the National Final in Cooley Mountains!
